Well, I'm a player coming back after a 1 year break and I'm in the same situation as the OP so i'll post in this thread instead of making my own. For most of EotN HM, i used a paragon hero with [Skill]Defensive Anthem[/Skill] and the restoration chants.

I'm looking to optimize my hero builds, can someone post a specific [Skill]Ray of Judgment[/Skill] build that synergies with Sabway assuming your running the SS necro? I read about that a lot on these forums since people say it's really good.

Critiques/Recommendations on my Player-ran SS build. I know it sucks, but it got me Legendary Master of the North through abusing Pain inverter, Ebon sin and Consumables.

No, [icy veins] is horrible on a N/Rt healer because you have to put him on "guard" instead of "avoid combat." And that's a great way to get your best healer killed.

Besides, the damage is not armor-ignoring, so in HM it's like shooting a popgun. Just bring [xinrae's weapon].

Get rid of Arcane Echo. It's usually not worth it and a 40/40 set suffices.
Bring Mark of Pain.

For more detailed build suggestions, look in the necro forum.

Get rid of [reckless haste] it doesn't work on half the mobs on HM, get rid of ebon sin you have nothing to abuse it with, get more [enfeebling blood] and [insidious parasite] and maybe [cry of pain]/[finish him!] too.

Should I switch to Discodway better in HM?? I used Sabway in NM fairly easy.
Currently working on Proph Missions/bonus.

Fine.
Reckless Haste will only reduce the chance enemies hit you in HM, they can't attack any faster.
If you're going to bring the ebon sin, bring Mark of Pain. In fact, bring Mark of Pain anyway.
You can bring Cry of Pain too...
I myself would recommend dispensing with SS and taking Assassin's Promise instead.

Discordway is superior, but requires a tiny bit more coordination to run.
And NM is no means to judge a build on - virtually anything will run in there and most of the time pose little challenge.

You don't think it's fantastic to have an AoE hex that will cause foes to miss 50% of the time with attacks?

No, because there are better options to take, RH is crap you dont need extra defense.

Puh-leeze tell me what's a "better option" than an AoE hex that causes foes to miss 50% of the time with attacks.

I think it's cute when people tell me things like "X is crap." I finished every HM zone, dungeon, and mission in the entire game with MoW faithfully bringing that "crap."

It isn't really crap for HM, I just don't have room to take it. I'm more fond of taking an extra splinter weapon tbh. I usually play an imbagon or a warrior with SY though, so enfeebling blood is enough to reduce damage most of the time.

Well these are my new builds after updating them a bit.
Me - (i'm not a fan of mark of pain or assassins promise, last slot is whatever PvE skill i feel like using at the time)
[N;OABCY8xUeQZgdgcZV1N4uDAA]
Livia
[N/Mo;OANDUslfSLVVBKgoBJg1DBEVVA]
Olias
[N/Rt;OAhiYwh8YtzYSzJ3wccWVTuA]
Ogden
[Mo;OwAS4YIP+MrPel67S2Hu1qP]

Seemed to work fine. The RoJ build is just something i threw together without thinking about it, since i hear people saying how awesome it is. But Ogden seem to constantly be low on energy. In general how are these builds?

Give the Ogden build to MoW and he will never have to worry about energy, if you dont mind the 12 smiting cap. (obviously sub in another skill for smiters boon.)

My 2 cents: On Ogden's build, leave out the Judge's Intervention and the Scourge Healing. Make him secondary ele and add GoLE and Divine Spirit. Or replace the two skills with a couple of signets, such as Rage and Bane. Or some combination of both e-management and signet.

Mark of Pain isn't a substitute for Reckless Haste if you want an AoE hex. However, you'd be a fool not to bring Mark of Pain.
For an AoE hex, Reckless Haste is nice as it prevents monsters from hitting you as often as they otherwise might. In HM though, the advantages stop there. It's also the only option with SS, as things like Shadow of Fear will reduce the damage done from SS.

I don't bring [mark of pain] and I don't consider myself a fool. Two problems with [mark of pain]:

1. It has a 20-second recharge. When your mark dies (and that's usually a lot faster than twenty seconds), you're stuck with a skill slowly recharging in the middle of your bar.

2. It causes them to scatter.

Just bring [barbs]. It's fast, relatively cheap, and your hero can spam it like a champ where it's needed.

Mark of Pain is probably the most powerful spell in the Curses line from a PvE perspective.

Yes, it has a 20 second recharge and if, after you cast it, you don't get the desired affect, this really hurts. However, when it goes right, it can decimate the better part of a large mob. Placed correctly and used with a MM and some other physicals, no other skill comes close.
A 40/40 set sometimes helps the problem of a long recharge.

The scatter issue is rarely a problem. Mark of Pain is usually triggered so rapidly by minions and the like, that the mob suffers huge amounts of damage before their scatter instinct kicks in. Obviously this may not apply if you're not bringing a MM.

I would like to know what you would take in place of MoP.

Update.
I recently switched to Discordway to try it. I'm running my 3 necro heros with the builds of PvXwiki. I myself is still running Curses SS necro with MoP, barbs, Enfeeling blood.
So far Im liking this team build. I seem to handle larger groups of mobs a lil better than Sabway, and with all 3 heros making minions takes alot of pressure off.
Only problem i see is where Corpses a low or not available.
Will keep running this team for now.

PvXwiki is notorious for giving fairly terrible builds. It's version of the Discord team is no exception.
The only thing it gets right in my view, is the player build. If you're running Discord spam, I seriously recommend that you, as the player, run something like this:

[build prof=N/A Deadly=10 Soul=11+1 Curses=10+1+2][Assassin's promise][You Move like a Dwarf][Finish Him!][Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support][Enfeebling Blood][Mark of Pain][/build] - two optional skills. Really, only the first 4 are necessary and almost any class can run it. You'll be pushed to fit the 4 extras in during play.

Discord teams are superior to Sabway, but don't be fooled into thinking it's the most effective option.

If the PvXwiki build is garbage, what skills should my heros running?
Im new to discordway, so just went off what they got listed there.
Thx for any help.

Well, it's not as bad as it used to be.
I prefer to only dedicate one hero to having minion skills, but that's a personal thing.
That hero should then be given Blood of the Master along with any monk skills you deem suitable.
I'd give another hero a few more curses skills (Barbs, maby Enfeebling blood). I might add a few Restoration skills.
Another one would be a pure N/Rt healer (with Discord obviously).

There's a lot of possible variation in it, which is one of the pros for Discord teams.
